POYNETTE / STOUGHTON – Debra Jo Brown, age 39, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, after a nine year struggle with breast cancer. She was born on Aug. 19, 1974, to Joe and Sally Brown. Deb worked for Waste Management, IKI and Merry Maids. Survivors include her parents, Joe and Sally Brown; siblings, Michelle, Denise and Kevin; and her children Tabitha, Josie and Paxton. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51 N. @ Jackson, Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Debra was my classmate and at one time a close friend. Although we went separate ways we still ran into each other now and then. God bless her family and we are all blessed to have known her.

Debbie was my first crush when I moved to Wisconsin from New Mexico in 1988. She was beautiful, witty, and made people around her feel special. My favorite memories with her took place at the pump house concrete structure at Bay View Heights. I was so lucky to get to know her and get those moments that will live with me for the rest of my life.

Watching her growing up was an adventure. Never dull moment. I saw her turn into a wonderful young woman who never let anything stop her love for her children. She fought a difficult battle with such strength and will power. You will be greatly missed. I can see you bouncing down the road going somewhere..happily skipping along. I know you will be guarding your children. You are a strong spirit you will always be in all of our hearts.
