Obituary

MONONA- Bernice Loraine (Belover) Zivney, age 89, of Monona, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born on Nov. 2, 1924, the daughter of John and Lena (Kovalaski) Belover. Bernice enjoyed the many things that life had to offer. Especially going out to dinner, dancing, music, a glass of wine to end the day and spending time with her family and friends. She met her husband, Douglas, in high school on a blind date. Bernice wrote to him every day while he was in the Pacific during World War II. Upon his return they were married on April 1, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun and spent the next 52 years together. During those 52 years, they raised their two daughters, traveled the world, and did a lot of dancing. Bernice was a loving mother to her daughters. She was a blessing in their lives and she will be dearly missed. Bernice is survived by her two daughters, Linda Zivney and Barbara Zivney. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Francis Ter Laan, Viola Albert and Sophie Bechert; and brother, Paul Belover. I have no doubt you are resting in the arms of angels now Bernice. May God give Linda and Barbara moments of peace as they mourn your loss ... and reassure them that you will always be with them and you will all be together again.
