Virginia Ann Anderson

Anderson, Virginia (Johnson) MONONA- Virginia (Johnson) Anderson, of Monona, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, after a brief illness and hospitalization. Virginia was born in Ironwood, Mich. She married Eugene Anderson in 1951, living most of her life on Madison’s east side. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She looked forward to holidays, family gatherings, and an annual trip with her daughters to visit family and friends. Virginia is survived by daughters, Diana (Gary) Kasbaum of Windsor and Gail (David) Herrmann of McFarland; grandchildren, Karin (Brett) McFall, Kristin (Brian) Meliska, Kathleen (Justin) Johnson, Lindsay (Chris) Ladd and Aaron (Michele) Herrmann; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Emma, Nathan, Clara, Lexie, Bella, Kendall, Ella, and Logan. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Jennie Johnson; siblings, Ruth, Donald, Ivar and Anne Marie; and her loving husband, Eugene. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at noon, on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Many thanks to the caring staff of St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston, Wis. for taking excellent care of Virginia and making her last days comfortable and respectful. A special thanks to the Just Checking In ‘family’ who made it possible for Virginia to live independently.
