Sara Quinn

Quinn, Sara J. MADISON-Sara J. Quinn, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Oak Park Place. She was born on Feb. 4, 1922, in Lake Preston, S.D., the daughter of Roy L. and Mabel Rhoades. Sara married Richard Quinn on May 31, 1941, in Madison. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Sara was a graduate of East High School in 1939 and worked at Manchester’s East, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed traveling, watching TV, especially game shows, and an occasional game of UpWords. Sara is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Jack) Culp of Madison; two grandchildren, Julie (Aaron) Roush of Mankato, Minn. and Jim Culp ( special friend, Desiree Kluever) of Madison; and five great-grandchildren, Kirstin and Chris Culp, and Halle, Emily and Matthew Roush. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Sylvia Herling and Katherine Olson; a niece, Marcia Rowin; and nephew, Roger Olson. A Memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. A private family interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
