LaCourse, Brian A.
FOOTVILLE-Brian A. LaCourse, age 72, passed away peacefully with his family and his dog at his side at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg on Saturday, July 12, 2014. He was born on February 26, 1942, in Madison, the son of Charles & Dorothy (Hawley) LaCourse. He was united in marriage to Anna M. Walser on February 2, 1963, at St. James Catholic Church in Madison. Brian was a longtime resident of Madison. He was a former employee of Packaging Corp of Madison, Tuscarora Plastic, Inc., and most recently owner/operator of Progressive Packaging, Inc. in Footville. In his spare time he enjoyed boating, bowling, golfing, gambling, snowmobiling, was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and an expert car shopper. Although he had many interests, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends, especially during the holidays. He was noted for always sharing a good laugh. Brian is survived by his wife, Anna; his children, Shellie (Roger) Engelhart and Scott (Bugsy) LaCourse; his grandchildren, Alicia (Adam) Clark, Erica (Nathan) Duell, Michael (fiancée Laura) LaCourse, Gabby LaCourse and Macy LaCourse; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Landon, Toni and Neva; his brother, Larry (Joyce) LaCourse; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dick. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A reception will follow the service at the Gunderson Funeral Home Community Room. Burial will be held in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Marxville. The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary’s Hospital, Agrace HospiceCare and the Renal Clinic doctors and staff for their love and care. It was an honor and a privlege to have the opportunity to care for Brian. Anna, you were such a wonderful supportive spouse and caretaker thoughout Brian's battle with kidney disease. You always managed a smile and kept positive and it was evident that Brian admired and loved you dearly! I have already and will continue to miss our monthly encounters at the clinic. This is a great picture of Brian and the way I want to remember him; with a great smile! My deepest sympathy to you and your family at this sad time.
