FITCHBURG / VERONA – Lucille M. Kelly, age 89, of Verona passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014, at Sonrisas in Verona. She was born on Oct. 15, 1924, in DePere, the daughter of John and Margaret (Ley) Brockman. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Kelly (Dan DeLorenzo) of Chicago and Mary Ann (Bob) Bondurant of Fitchburg; two grandchildren, Emily and Grace; one sister, Mary Mizenko; and numerous other relatives and friends. My memory of Mary Ann, my roommate back in Carbondale while attending SIU, in 1977-79, having a loving relationship with her mom to this day. My message is to all of you, each of you family members, love and peace to each of you as you grieve the passing of one great lady, mother, friend, grandmother, etc. With our condolences to all of you, Audrey and Jan Kohlmann, Vine Grove, Kentucky.

My thoughts are with Mary Ann, Kathy, and their families as I fondly recall my 4+ years of spending time with Lu as her home companion/caregiver. Warm, funny, sweet, kind, generous! Her positive spirit affects the way I look at life and its challenges. Lucky family, lucky kitty cats! The time I spent with her is one of the high points of my 20+ years of serving elders.
