Robert Dean Wold,

MONONA-Robert D. “Bob” Wold passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, after battling a lung disease for over seven years. He was born at home on Aug. 20, 1933, at home in rural Vernon County, the son of Robert G. and Ethel E. Wold. Bob was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1951. He married Ethel Demar in 1953, and they enjoyed over 61 years together. They moved to Madison in 1954 and shortly after became members at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Bob started his sales career selling cars in Madison, and then went on to selling office copy machines. Later, he worked for Jeske Company, in Appleton, for over 40 years selling building hardware in Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Bob had many interests. He was an accomplished wood worker and created many furnishings. Bob thoroughly enjoyed camping with family and friends. One of his life-long passions was old cars. He drove his Model A Ford over 40,000 miles, and was a member of Wisconsin’s Region Marc for more than 28 years. Bob was also a member of Model T Club. He is survived by his wife, Ethel; son, Rob (Julie); daughter, Laura Lee; grandsons, Chris and Geoff (Katie); great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
