Lucille Mueller

MADISON-Lucille Elizabeth Mueller, age 96, was called to her heavenly home and welcomed by her Savior on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born at home on Sept. 2, 1917, in Winona County, Minn., the daughter of William and Adeline (Trestor) Holz. She married David Mueller on July 12, 1941, in Hart, Minn. Lucille is survived by her husband, David Mueller of Madison; sons, Richard (Nancy) Mueller of McFarland, Roger (Mary) Mueller of Oregon and David (Diane) Mueller of McFarland; six grandchildren, Roger II, Amy Lehmann, Dawn (Jerry) Hopp, Matthew (Therese), Melissa and Jill; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Holz of Winona, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Frederick and Lester Holz. Lucille lived life enthusiastically and graciously, committed to her church, family and friends. She was a charter member and volunteer at the Bethesda House of Thrift and made scores of quilts for her children, grandchildren, Lutheran World Relief and the Orphan Grain Train. She was vital and active until the end. A funeral service will be held at MONONA LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4411 Monona Dr., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug., 1, 2014, with the Rev. David Susan presiding. As Lucille requested, the burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. at HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS, 3054 County Rd. BB, Madison, preceding the memorial service. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
