SUN PRAIRIE / MADISON-William H. “Bill” Pierick, age 77, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, surrounded by his family, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on July 19, 1937, in Dodgeville, the son of Carol S. Hirsch and William A. Pierick. He married Virginia Lee (Fahner) Scott on Sept. 7, 1968, in Cambridge, Ohio. In Bill’s early years, he enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed archery, fishing and hunting. Bill was an aspiring entrepreneur, but his true passion was his family. He always looked forward to spending time with his family and taking them camping. Bill was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served on many boards and was the church council president for many years. He was a father figure to many youth in the community throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Pierick; sons, Michael (Heidi) Pierick, Steve (Sara) Pierick, Brian Pierick, and Karl (Mary) Pierick; nine grandchildren, Philip, Thomas, Ellea, Nick, Stephanie, Jenna, Tracy, Brady and Emma; great-grandchildren, Austin, Taylor and Hunter; two sisters, Bernadette (Robert) Reed and Anita (Jim) Engelberger; one brother, Edward (Laurel) Pierick; and several nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Janet Carol; and his great-grandson, Brody. Funeral services will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1021 Spaight Street, Madison, at 3 p.m., on Sunday, July 27, 2014, with Pastor Michael Erdman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Bill’s name. Virginia, So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. My heart goes out to you and your family. We sure spent many hours together at Stand Rock camp grounds as next door neighbors. It was so enjoyable the hours we spent playing the "WASHER" horseshoes and the time Bill and I played Cribbage.
As they say"Those were the days my friend my friend, we thought they'd never end" alas they do.
My prayers are with you and your family for Your Comfort in this time of Sorrow. Knowing that

Haven't seen Bill for several years, but whenever I would run into him he always had a ready smile and a positive attitude. When we both worked at "The Kipp" he was a hard worker, always with the customer in mind. My sincere sympathy to you and the family!
