Obituary

Holton, Ronald CW04, USCG, Retired MADISON/LEESBURG, FLA.-Ronald Holton, age 63, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, from complications of lung cancer. He was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Danville, Ill., the son of Robert and Nadine Holton. Ron was a 1968 graduate of Monona Grove High School. He joined the Coast Guard shortly after graduating and made it his career. At the time of his retirement in 1999, he was Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard’s New Orlean’s station. Ron is survived by, most importantly (“Period!”), his beloved dog and companion, Libby; his best friend and sister, Carol (Alan) Loomis; his daughters, Michelle Korshaven of Snohomish, Wash., and Sharon Holton (Casey Christlieb) of Monroe, Wash.; two granddaughters, Kayli and MaKenzie Korshaven; and a grandson, Declan Christlieb. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nadine and Robert Holton. A funeral service with military honors will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014. Visitation will be at Roselawn from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
