Obituary
LODI/ LAKE WISCONSIN – Joseph Lee Grady, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 17, 2014. He was born on Sept. 12, 1945, in Madison, the son of Donald Joseph and Ila Mae (Lewis) Grady. Joseph loved car shows, tinkering in his garage and his classic Dodge cars. He worked for various auto body shops, starting at Chief Auto Body before opening his own shop, JLG enterprises in Harmony Grove in the early 80’s. Joseph retired in 2002. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Joseph had a true soft spot for his grandchildren and a special love for his dogs and cats. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Michael (Shelley) Grady, Laura (Jeff) Veloff, Carla (Randy) Kreger, Tracy Webb, Terry (Allison) Webb and Tricia (Larry) Wickham; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Amber (Bob) Fluckinger, Genieve (Carl) Syftestad and Karen (Jock) Pautzke; and sister-in-law, Lynne Grady. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donovan Grady. A visitation and celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at HAMRE-GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Burial will be held at Verona Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. We will always remember Joe (and Sandy) for being so kind to us when we moved to Harmony Grove, they introduced us to people and thanks to them we felt right at home. Rest in peace Joe and our deepest sympathy to his family especially his beloved wife Sandy.

I am Joe's daughter-in-law., Alison Evans-Webb (aka Ali). I have been married to Sandy's amazing son, Terry, for over 23 years now. It has been just overwhelming to receive so much support, strength, prayers, kindness, love, and genuine compassion from SO MANY regarding the sudden passing of my "Father-In-Law", My Husband's "Step-Dad", and my sons' "Pops"... the legendary... Joe Grady.
See, he and I had...well...um...a "unique" relationship, I guess. In over 25 years of being in "this family", I cannot recall Joe and I "hugging" or telling one another "I love you"...EVER...which for anyone who KNEW Joe, this was just his way, and I have ALWAYS accepted that! However, after much reflection in the past couple of days, I realized that we just displayed our "affection" in other ways. For example, for YEARS, I waitressed at 6am EVERY Sat and Sun am (yep...ugh!), and Joe and his "coffee clutch" would already be there...waiting for me...at 6:05am...clanging their coffee cups on the bar! So, right from the jump, I started to inflict upon them my horrible "morning moods", my even WORSE singing voice, yet my amazing and stellar dance moves! lol! Needless to say, Joe always seemed "LESS than amused", but his friends were entertained anyway! (I think ...).
Also, every Xmas Morning, we would always go to he and Terry's mom's house, where Christopher Webb (the youngest of our 2 sons who is 13...his older brother Kenneth Charles is 17...)would ALWAYS keep track of how much $$$$ "Pops" would owe OUR "swear jar" (...and ours is NOT your typical "swear jar", It's more like a "words that just don't fly around here" jar...just use your imagination...;)...had we been at OUR house at the time, ect... when we got in the car to leave and head to my parents...and let's just say it was in the "triple digit range EVERY year consistantly!
So Rest In Much Peace, Joe...and may you now forever be just "Tinkering with stuff", out "Hot-Rodding", and just "tearing it up" with your buddies!...May you ALSO always get stuck the waitress as sassy as I was ! HA! Oh, and Joe...I love you...until we meet again...

Joe words can not say how I feel now I have lost both my brothers and best friends now. We had some good time and some bad ones, but the love we shared will never be forgotten. you leave behind a loving family. we will never forget you....I love you .......amber
