Delila Harriet Knuteson

KNUTESON, DELILA H. TOWN OF DEKORRA-Delila H. Knuteson, age 87, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Serenity Homes Assisted Living in De Forest. She was born on February 5, 1927 in Poynette, WI, the daughter of William and Vera (Cross) McNicol. Delila married Kenneth R. Knuteson on September 9, 1950 at Dekorra Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death in 1999. Delila graduated from Lodi High School. She worked as a LPN with Dr. Focke at Poynette Hospital until she was married. Delila raised her family and was a life-long member of Dekorra Lutheran Church where she was involved in teaching Sunday school, ladies Bible studies, quilting group and the church choir. She had a large garden that she enjoyed and shared with others. Delila also enjoyed children, often providing child care for the children of many friends and family. She did not drive a car but she loved to ride snowmobiles and it had to be an Arctic Cat, whether it was around the area or up north. Delila is survived by her children, Rondi (Dennis) Stanford, Jeffrey (Donna) Knuteson, Paul (Nan) Knuteson, Laureen Knuteson and Alan Knuteson; grandchildren, CJ Stanford (special friend – Laurie Wohlscheid), Andy (Julie), Quin, Jalen and Mya Knuteson; great grandson, Harlan; sisters, Kathy (Jay) Adams, Elaine Sparks and Betty (Lee) Conaway. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Kenneth McNicol and sister-in-law, Geraldine McNicol. Funeral Services will be held at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3099 Smith Road, Poynette, at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2014, with Reverend Ryan Rouse presiding. Burial will be in Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3099 Smith Road, Poynette, Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Dekorra Lutheran Church.
