Eleanor Thompson

DEFOREST-Eleanor V. Thompson passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Lodi Good Samaritan Nursing Home with family and friends by her side. She was born in Marshall to Wilfred and Nettie (Bostwick) Radis. Eleanor was a loving mother who raised her children in DeForest with her husband of 56 years, Lloyd Thompson. She enjoyed family, long drives, her dogs, and of course, chocolate. Eleanor is survived by her children, Vicky Sue (Rod) Haak, Dartt Thompson, Kasey (Julie) Thompson; six grandchildren, Karrie Haak, Torrie (Phil) Huber, Taylor and Caitlin Thompson, and Wyatt and Sydni Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Reese and Gretta Huber; sister, Emily Johnson of Tucson, Ariz.; as well as a lifelong friend, Karen Johnson. She is further survived by other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wildred and Nettie; her husband, Lloyd; daughter-in-law, Sue (Locke) Thompson; three sisters, Margaret Langer, Melvina Arner, and Beatrice Radis; and two nephews, Mike Langer and Gene Arner. Memorial services will be held at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 220 S. Main St., DeForest, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Visitation will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, as well as from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday. Our family would like to thank family, friends, and the staff at the Lodi Good Samaritan Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care of Mom (Nana) during her stay.
