Obituary

DOVER, JEAN A. MONONA – Jean A. Dover, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was born on November 3, 1932 in Randolph, the daughter of Ervin and Laura Biel. Jean married Thomas Dover on May 16, 1953. She and Tom enjoyed riding on their Gold Wing with Chapter H. She worked for Oscar Mayer Foods for many years. Jean was an avid reader, a great cook and enjoyed camping and spending time with most of her family. She also enjoyed gambling and playing bingo. Jean is survived by her four children; Thomas (Mary Steele) Dover, Diana (Pete Ten Bruggencate) Dover, Todd Dover, Tina Jones, four grandchildren; Miranda (Scott Ladwig), Tore John Jones, Janna, Alena Ten Bruggencate; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas; three sisters, Bernadine, Luwayne, and Loretta; and a brother Gordy. Memorial services will be held at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 18, 2014, with Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Agrace HospiceCare, American Cancer Society or to the VFW Post #7591. Tom, Diana, Todd, and Tina, it's been many years but I still have great memories of your family. I'm sorry to hear that your mom has passed. Growing up on Sargent St. in Madison with all of you were some of the best times I had as a kid. Hope all of you are well.
