He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, gambling, going to Packer Games and his Tuesday lunches with his Monona Grove classmates. Duane had a great sense of humor and had a one-liner for everything. He is survived by his wife, Lorna; children, Kim (Larry) Landphier, Eric (Kellie) Daugherty, and Jeff Daugherty; four grandchildren, Andrew and Tess Landphier and Austin and Alex Daugherty; his sister, Sharron (Gary) Reynolds; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita (Gene) Fredenberg, Marguerite (Pete) Ware, Joan Strandlie, Daniel (Carol) Kalscheur, Mary Ann (Jack) Simon, Irene (Gene) Hart and Don (Tina) Kalscheur; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry (Carol); his in-laws, Mel and Susan Kalscheur; brother-in-law, Curt Strandlie; and his sister-in-law, Judy Baldwin. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 5 p.m., on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. A special thank you to our daughter, Kim, for being our “rock” and to brother-in-law, Gary Reynolds, for helping Duane and fishing with him for 50 years. Also, thank you to the staff at Oak Park Place 2nd floor memory care unit for all their loving care of dad through his illness. As Duane would say, Thanks for coming, it was nice you could see me.” Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608)221-5420

Duane we will miss you sorely. You were a tremendous presence at the "lunch bunch" in Cottage Grove. I remember well the partying and good times we had at Monona Grove.........a long time ago. We would tell endless list of stories about Monona Grove and never seem to repeat the same one. May you rest in peace with our Lord. Earl Kielley

Lorna and Family - so sorry to hear of Duane's passing. It was a shock when I read about it. We have not seen each other for a long, long time, but I never forgot you. Really enjoyed having you both as neighbors on Droster Road. Take care and you have my sympathy.

GENE HART Duane, The memories, the fun, the times we had, the peanut butter. The vacation with our families at Rita & Gene's cottage on Moose Lake. You and Lorna on vacation out here in California. Lorna and Reenie went to a taping of the Johnny Carson Show in Hollywood and wound up singing the 'Prune Song' on live TV. The wonderful time we had at your cottage in Hayward. Fish frys at Nora. You taught me how to lose with dignity on the golf course at Yahara and when Reenie and I lost a game of Euchre to you and Lorna , it was perfectly acceptable to put peanut butter in my hair ? We love you Dewey, we will miss your smile, your generosity, and friendship.
