Obituary
MIDDLETON- Richard D. Clift, age 92, of Middleton, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on March 21, 1922, in Viola, the son of Henry and Fern (Storer) Clift. Richard was united in marriage to Ramona J. Gochenaur on Feb. 2, 1943, in Richland Center. He lived in the Madison area since 1948. Richard was employed with Wisconsin Mutual Insurance Company as treasurer for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a graduate of Viola High School, class of 1940, and also Madison Business College. Richard was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Eastside Business Club, American Legion Post No. 501, M.A.R.G.A., Ridgeway Neighborhood Association, and Hawthorne PTA (former president). In his spare time, Richard loved traveling, spending time with family, golfing, bowling, and singing in the church choir. He is survived by his wife, Ramona; children, Catherine (Arthur) Bostwick and Mary (Peter) Hans; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hurtado, Ryan (Sara) Hurtado, Laura Hans and Joel (Claire) Hans; great-grandsons, Benjamin Hurtado and Jackson Hurtado; and other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Cathel Clift and Amy Lester. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave, Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014, with the Rev. Carly Kuntz presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Entombment with military honors will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or First United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Dear Ramona, Kathy, Mary and Families-So sorry to hear of Uncle Dick's passing.......always enjoyed visiting with him and seeing how his golf game was going and of course his cherished Wisconsin Badgers. Ramona & family. We were so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was always such a sweetheart! I'll always remember the two of you coming to the neighborhood meetings. Dick always seemed to enjoy visiting with his neighbors and friends and sharing remembrances from the neighborhood. I'm sure he'll be seriously missed by many. Our prayers are with you all.
