Obituary

MIDDLETON-George E. Easterhouse, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was born on Dec. 13, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Cornelius and Laura Easterhouse. On June 12, 1948, George married Barbara Reynolds (“the best thing I ever did”) in Pardeeville. After graduating from Tilden Tech in Chicago, George joined the U.S. Army and served in WWII under General Patton as a Combat Engineer. He had a successful career as a sales manager for Walnut Grove Products in the Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa region. George loved baseball and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. George was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Middleton. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara; a daughter, Karen (Bill) Caine of St. Louis; a son, Thomas of Fitchburg; two grandchildren, Jason Caine and Lindsay Caine; and three great-granddaughters, Taylor, Alexis and Peyton; and many nieces, nephews and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Robbins. A memorial service will be held at ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave, Middleton, on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Pardeeville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Patron of The Arts Fund or Agrace HospiceCare. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
