Grace Kreutzer

Grace I. (Cuff) Kreutzer, age 88, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Columbia Healthcare Center with her son, Jim, by her side. Grace was born on June 30, 1925, to Ralph and Hazel (Lucas) Cuff on a farm in Marcellon Township. Grace was a member of the Marcellon “Merry Makers” 4-H Club for five years, graduated from Pardeeville High School sharing Salutatorian Honors, then continued on to Madison Vocational School and graduated with a secretarial degree. She possessed a variety of skills that she brought to the workforce. Grace worked for Farmers Mutual Auto Insurance, Wisconsin State Industrial Commission, and the United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI). She was united in marriage to Ralph Kreutzer on October 20, 1951, at North Scott Baptist Church, Dalton, Wisconsin and together they raised four sons. Grace was a devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and always took time for her children. She served as Den Mother for Pack 350 in Oregon, Wis. Grace enjoyed gardening, socializing, and traveling. As a 35 year Avon representative, Grace served as team and group sales leader working her way to the President’s Club. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 812, Bethel Lutheran Church where she served as a greeter with her husband Ralph for several years, and the Married Couples Club. Grace loved to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to New Orleans to visit special friends Lois and Arthur Balser. Her passion for traveling lead her to many interesting places including all 50 states, as well as the Caribbean Islands, South America, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Grace is survived by her two sons, John of Madison and Jim of Portage; two precious granddaughters, Alicia and Brittany; a sister, Betty Miller of Madison; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph of 58 years; two sons, Wayne and Mark; and a sister, June Thomas. A Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church (Madison), or Columbia Healthcare Center (Wyocena).
