Obituary

MADISON - Pamela Jo Snyder, age 68, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Badger Prairie Health Care from complications of frontotemporal dementia. She was born on Jan. 30, 1946 in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Ella Mae (Burke) Larson. Pamela graduated with the Monona Grove High School class of 1964 and attended both the nursing and business programs at Madison Area Technical College. In 1985, she married Donald Snyder in Las Vegas. Pamela was employed at the UW Foundation. She enjoyed films, crafts and travel. Prior to her illness, Pamela especially enjoyed the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Donald; her children, Shaun (Maria) Lapacek of Chicago, Ill. and Kimberly (Lee) Wallander of Sun Prairie; step-children, Debra (Bryan) Thurman of Springfield, Ore., Donald (Linda) Snyder of Alamosa, Colo., Karrie (Stephen) Snyder of Excelsior, Minn., Geoffrey (Julie) Snyder of Madison and Murray (Megan) Snyder of Madison; nine grandchildren, including the newest addition, Nadia Lapacek who was born this last week; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; special aunt, Beatrice Burke; along with other aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 3, 2014, with Agrace Chaplain Steven Zwettler presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pamela’s name to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, 517 N. Segoe Rd., Ste. 301, Madison, WI 53705. I always thought of our family like a tall tree that stood tall and strong,and the branches were all of us and our families that have expanded with marriage and new generations well ,Pam came into my life when i was older and i thought how can she replace my aunt that use to be well she never tried to she became the Beautiful colors like when the leaves change in the fall ,well what i am trying to say is Pam was a very important part of my family and i would not have wanted it any other way ,,i loved her and miss her dearly
