I worked with Sandy at St. Mary's hospital. She was one of those seasoned nurses I looked up to, who helped us newer nurses with all of her experience and knowledge. I remember for Sandy's 25th anniversary at St. Mary's we threw her a yummy fondue party that she seemed to really enjoy. She loved her fruit and cheese so we had lots of that. :) I remember Sandy reading her books when she had downtime at work (which wasn't often). She liked talking about her travels, her favorite TV shows, and her beloved grandkids. I was sad to hear of Sandy's passing but was happy to hear she was at home with hospice. My condolences to all her family and friends. Rest in peace, Sandy, and thank you for helping me become a stronger nurse.

Sandy my friend, I will miss you so much. I have loved you since the day we met. You were always so brave and kind. How many miles do you think we walked up and down Monona Drive? You said we were teasing the boys but I was enjoying your company. Remember our little adventure when we took off for the weekend? We had to spend the night at the Chicago bus station. We wanted to wander around outside but the guard wouldn’t let us leave. Now that you are an angel you will be watching over silly teenage girls. Even though we were separated by miles we were never apart. I am so happy I got to visit with you last month. You will always be in my heart. I love you. Mary and Richard Dorsey

I can't believe it's been 10 years since we worked together but I still considered you my friend, even if only on FB. You've touched so many people and made several lives easier over the course of your career just by being so sweet, unassuming . kind and skilled. You are respected among your peers and a credit to the profession. While you will be missed here on Earth, you will fit in well in Heaven. RIP

Steve and Ramona (and Sandy's family): My condolences on Sandy's passing. I didn't know she was ill. But then it's been a while since any of us has connected. I heard about this Tuesday from Cousin Gordy and passed the word to all my siblings. I plan on attending the visitation and memorial so I'll see you then. In the meantime best wishes to all and to Sandy's Family. I regret that I didn't know her much any more, but I remember her from childhood, and from when I ran into her from time to time at local music festivals. Hard to believe she's gone. Cousin Mike (Disch)
