Van Gilder, Kathy Jo (Spoerle)
MADISON/JACKSONVILLE, FLA.-Kathy Jo Spoerle Van Gilder , age 54, passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. A devoted mother and grandmother, she was born on May 2, 1959, in Madison to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spoerle. Kathy attended James Madison Memorial High School. She lived in Jacksonville, Fla., where she worked for American Greeting and WalMart. Kathy is survived by her husband, Matthew Van Gilder; two children, Crystal Wooldridge of Sugar Grove, W.V. and Steven Van Gilder of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Paeton Wooldridge of Sugar Grove, W.V. and Ethan Van Gilder of Jacksonville, Fla.; her parents, Betty Lou and Richard Spoerle of Madison; two sisters, Cindy Spoerle of Prairie Du Sac and Brenda Spoerle of McFarland; one brother, Jeff Spoerle of Madison; and other loving family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, March, 1, 2014. Dick, Betty Lou, Jeff, Cindy and Brenda-
I am saddened to hear of Kathy Jo's passing. Since we are the same age, I always had fun playing at your house and at all of the Spoerle family parties and reunions with Kathy Jo. She was always so sweet and kind. I have lots of fond memories of her, and I am sorry I haven't seen her in such a long time. God bless all of you and her husband, children and grandchildren. I am going to be in Florida and not able to attend the memorial service on Saturday. I will be praying for all of you.
