LAS VEGAS- Ferne E. Frederickson, formerly of Stoughton, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Silver Sky Assisted Living. She was born on Feb. 11, 1925, in Belleville, the daughter of Walter and Evie (Shafer) Zweifel. Ferne was married to Arlo Frederickson on April 25, 1945, in Oregon. Together they operated the family farm. Ferne was employed at Carnes Mfg. in Verona and Graber Mfg. in Middleton. She was a member of the Oregon Presbyterian Church for several years. Ferne enjoyed Bingo, cooking, baking, playing cards, sewing and crossword puzzles. Ferne is survived by; two sons, Cal (Karole) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dale of Pardeeville; four granddaughters, Cindy Frederickson, Amy (Jerry) Rosas, Rachelle (Scotty) Smith, Renee (Aaron) Zemke; two grandsons, Deron (Zulika) Frederickson and Freddy Wenger; one great granddaughter, Kayla Meyer; four great-grandsons, Calvin and Owen Frederickson, Mason and Myles Zemke; and one step great-grandson, Aidan Calderon; son-in-law, Frederick Wenger, a brother; Walter Zweifel, Jr., three sisters; Betty Hommen, Veryl Pernot, Mary (Kent) Libby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo, her parents; a daughter, Jean Wenger; a brother, Norman Zweifel; and a sister, Ann Courtier.
Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51 N., Stoughton, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Private interment will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon. Memorials may be made to Project Linus, Madison Wisconsin Chapter. Ferne’s family wishes to express their gratitude to Compassion Care Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Ferne. They would also like to extend a thank you to everyone at SilverSky for everything they did and a very special thank you to Caroline Millam, who really made a difference in Ferne’s life. Dear Calvin, Dale and families,
Sorry to hear of the death of your mother. It is always sad to be faced with the death of a parent and the fact that once the last one is gone there will be no more questions answered! It seems often that we kids will say " Well ask Dad or ask Mother". No more, but what wonderful memories they have left behind. I still remember staying out on the farm and not being bashful eating her good meals! Our thoughts are with all of you and we wish you peace. We are in AZ for the rest of the winter so we will not be able to attend the service, but we will be thinking of the wonderful lady Ferne was. I am sure she is sharing that magnetic smile in heaven!

Freddy and Karole just read of your mothers passing. It brought back memories of all the good times we had. Remember Arlo and Ferne from then. Saw that Dale lives in Pardeeville, what a small world. I now live north of Pardeeville. Would love to touch passes with you if you are in the area.
How lucky you were to have your mother for so long. I am sorry for your family it is always a hard thing to go through. But am thinking of you. Alice Xander
