Obituary

MADISON – Barbara J. Haack, age 84, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Heritage Memory Care. She was born on Sept. 26, 1929, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., the daughter of Elmer and Amy Dunkel. Barb was united in marriage to Norman Haack and they were married for 48 years. She worked at Oscar Mayer for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. Barb loved spending time with her grandkids. She was also an avid reader, and loved all birds, especially cardinals. Barb enjoyed watching many sports, being a big Badger and Packer fan. Barb is survived by her children, Sheri (Steve) Eddington, Kim Ryan, Tim (Lori) Haack, Karen (Steve) Vial; eight grandchildren, Matt (Abby), Jenna (Eric), Marisa (Justin), Kristi (Andy), Travis, Stephanie, Cody, and Aaron; four great-grandchildren, AJ, Lucy, Sophie, Jamison and one more on the way; her sister, Nancy (Ron) Nimocks, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Pamela, and son-in-law, Bill (Rudder) Ryan. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
