Obituary

Joseph Edward Delfosse of Poynette, WI entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 28 at Meriter Hospital in Madison WI. He was born on December 28, 1940 in Madison, WI; much of his life was spent on Lake Wisconsin and the surrounding land. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Knuteson in 1960. Joe was the proud father of Tony (Cheryl), of De Forest WI, and Brian (Jodi) of Milwaukee WI. He was the Number One Fan of his grandsons, Cory (24), Casey (21) and Christian (11). Joe is further survived by his siblings: Nancy (Marvin) Jellings, Tom (Karen), Pat (Norman) Waugh, Shirley Kaye, Jim (Liane), and Bill (Gail). Joe was preceded in death by his father Edward and mother Ada Delfosse (Lischeske). With a large extended family, Joe enjoyed his many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to many in the Poynette and Lake Wisconsin areas, including the many friends at Oscar Mayer and the United Food and Commercial Worker’s Union where he worked for over 38 years. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, N3099 SMITH ROAD, POYNETTE. Burial will be held at Dekorra Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the church and also on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service. I had the privilege to work with Joe at Oscar Mayers...I enjoyed many laughs and tears with Joe...when my husband passed he helped me get family leave as he could see I was hurting and needed to b home...I am saddened to hear of his passing. he was a GREAT guy.
