Obert W Schwenn

VERONA-Obert W. Schwenn, age 96, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on October 27, 1917 in Mt. Horeb, the son of Walter L. and Mary (Lehr) Schwenn. Obert was married to Elizabeth Hambrecht on May 11, 1939. She preceded him in death on November 8, 1986. He married Ivadell Woolever on October 14, 1989. As a lifelong dairy farmer, Obert loved to work the ground and harvest the crops. He loved to dance and loved getting together with family, especially the grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Obert is survived by his wife Ivy; his sons, Richard (Judy), Marvin (Dixie) and Franklin (Dorothy) Schwenn; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by three step-children; two step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and Ivy’s children and grandchildren. Obert was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Velva and five brothers, Russell, Kenneth, Ronald, Robert and James. Funeral services will be held at ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
