Gladys Jean Holcomb

MADISON/OREGON–Gladys J. (Olson) Holcomb, age 73, of Madison/Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014. She was born on June 6, 1940, in Madison, the daughter of Ernest and Garnet (Wong) Olson. Gladys enjoyed playing euchre, bingo and visiting casinos. She loved music, dancing and her dog, Sammie, her faithful companion. She is survived by her daughters, Cathie Jo (Mike Blood) Wethal, Tami (Steve) Noyce and Jodee (Kurt) Knoble; grandchildren, Matthew (Val Peterson) Wethal, Tabatha Wethal, Jenna (James Anthony) Wethal, Benjamin (Brittany Reek) Noyce, Steven (Bri Listol) Noyce, Cynara Kluever and Julie Knoble; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Gaffney, Catherine “Kitty” (Dallas) Christensen and Connie Marr-Topper; a son-in-law, Dave Kluever; along with several nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stanley “Cod” Olson; a daughter, Tracine “Tracie” Kluever; significant other, Harold Bailey; former husband, Gerald Holcomb; and her beagle, Babe. A Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
