"Edie very much mattered in her own quiet way." - That is touching and heartbreaking. It speaks volumes about a woman I've never met. Condolences and peace to those who love her.

Edie was as inspiration to many of her colleagues around the world. She was generous with her time and always helpful. I will miss emailing her about the weather. It's funny that I was at the UW for many years, but never knew her, and then moved to Colorado and she became a good and valued friend. I will miss her humor and kindness.

Edie handled her tech support work with great skill and kindness and a wicked sense of humor, all of which meant alot to both technophobes like me and those who knew what they were doing. This is a terrible loss to the library and everyone who knew her even slightly.

I loved needing help from Edie who was always so good-humored and knowledgeable. What an incredible loss for the library.

I never knew Edie in person. I just wanted you to know that her generosity of spirit in sharing her knowledge with us all via the e-lists will be greatly missed. Sometimes, we write about people having 'global influence' without really understanding just how widespread that influence has been. Edie's influence certainly extended to Australia. In sympathy.
