Gary and I are so sorry for the loss of this wonderful man. We first met at the funeral of Gary's mother, Ethel Kvalheim, and have enjoyed visiting with him so much since that time. We are thinking of you, the family, and will hold you in our prayers. Gary and Kathy Kvalheim

To cousin John's family it was with great sadness that I read of John's passing, we first met when I was doing the Ferrel History and I was so impressed with what John had told me that it made me want to learn more .Sorry for your loss I will always remember him. Sincerely David D. Ferrel

So sorry to hear of Jack's passing. Many a day was spent listening to Jack and my mother (Jean Lechnir) swapping news/ recipes and daily gossip. I enjoyed sitting on Gladys back steps playing Jack's zither and eating apples from her apple tree. Please let me know when services/remembrances will be held in the spring as I would like to attend. I was so sorry to hear that John had passed. I started working with him at the University of Wisconsin in 1968. When my son was born, John carved his first Halloween pumpkin. He did an amazing job! Over the years we became very good friends and I will truly miss talking with him. I just called him after Christmas and he told me he was starting treatment in January. I certainly had no idea it would be the last time I would be able to talk to him. My condolences to all his family, whom he loved very much. Rest in Peace John. Sincerely, Sue Porter

I first met John at Ten Chimneys in Genesee Depot, WI. where we both were volunteer docents. John brought an incredible wealth of information to many of us about the history of the buildings, furnishings and the many and varied artifacts on the estate. He was also a treasure of information on the legitimate theater and the famous actors, Lunt and Fontanne and of course, Noel Coward. All we needed to do was ask and John was happy to share whatever information he had. He was tireless in his efforts and most respected by those of us who knew him and worked as volunteers with him. And John was funny too. He had a way about him that always left me and everyone else around him with a smile. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have known John H. Marvin and been fortunate to know him as a true friend and know that my friendship was a value to him as well. Gosh, I'm going to miss this guy; the world is a better place because John H. Marvin passed this way. Sincerely, Carol N. Janc, Oconomowoc, WI
