Ruth Lorraine Struebing

STRUEBING (HIGBIE), RUTH MADISON/PLEASANTON, CALIF.-Ruth (Higbie) Struebing, passed away Jan. 3, 2014, in Pleasanton, Calif. She was born April 10, 1924, the daughter of Vernon and Tina (Benson) Higbie in Lebanon, Wisc. She was the youngest of nine children. Ruth lived most of her life in Madison until she moved to Livermore, Calif. in 2008, to be closer to her son. Ruth is survived by two sons, David (Beth) Struebing of Livermore, Calif., and Russell (Rae) Struebing of Virginia Beach, Va.; two granddaughters, Lorie Struebing and Megan Struebing; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Niko, Bella, Kanani, and Eddie; a sister, Bertha Dittberner of Baraboo; a daughter-in- law, Lisa Struebing; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell on Jan. 26, 1991; a son, Danny, on April 10, 2013; brothers, Ben Higbie, and Ed Higbie; and sisters, Lillian Mudgett, Margaret Mudgett, Lucille Pollack, Martha Thompson, and Leona Peters. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.
