KONING, KATHLEEN A.
MADISON-Kathleen A. Koning, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 25, 1933, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Frank and Lenora (Zander) Kraus. She married Frank Koning on April 4, 1959, in Ridgeway. Kathleen graduated from Ridgeway High School. She worked at Bank of Madison as a proof reader and retired from Gaylord Catering after 35 years. Kathleen loved shopping, cooking and her family. Her passions were traveling, theatre and fish fries. She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughters, Vicky (Jim) Sullivan of Cottage Grove and Mary Ann (Kerry) Grow of Oregon; four grandchildren, Blair, Danny, Hannah and Haley; a brother, Gerald (Judy) Kraus of Dodgeville; and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Francis. Funeral Services will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Julie and I are thinking about you . . . Kathleen was a nice lady and a good neighbor . . . I remember when she was still waitressing for events at the East Side Club and I was there with my special needs kids from La Follette . . . we would help her with preparations and set-ups and she was soo-o-o nice to my students and so grateful for our help . . . she was a sweetheart and Julie and I will miss her right along with you !
