Obituary
Roland J Yaktus, age 73, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, of congestive heart failure. Roland was born Nov. 24, 1940, the son of Frank and Lily Yaktus. He enjoyed taking long walks and was most happy being outside in nature. He especially loved the Green Lake, WI area and spent many hours there over the years. He will be remembered for his endless optimism, kindness to all and big smile. Roland is survived by one son, Mike (Tracy) Yaktus of Middleton, WI and one daughter Sue Durst; of Hudson, WI; grandchildren Zach McNally, Avery Yaktus, Jordan Durst, Skylar Yaktus and sister Francis Manske. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Frank Yaktus, Phyllis Merrill and Terry Yaktus. A private family celebration of life will take place on a future date. Roland’s family would like to thank the staff at UW Hospital Cardiac Unit and Agrace for their excellent care. In lieu of memorials, please make donations to Agrace HospiceCare. Mike, my sympathies to you and your family. I always enjoyed my talks with your dad, usually at the grocery store! The last time we talked was at Culver's in May. He was always so positive and gave me advice about the important things in life. He was a good guy!
