Shirley was always giving. She always seemed so interested in what was going on in the lives of you and those you loved. She will be dearly missed.

Shirley was such a role model in her work ethic and her sense of creativity. I remember when I was a little girl and she helped my mother design a new livingroom idea and submit it in a competition despite the tiny little house we lived in at the time. Years later when my husband and I moved from N.Y. back to Madison she came to our Nakoma home and helped decide where to hang our "art". We will miss her gracious presence in that first pew at the half. I would say, "a job well done good and faithful servant." Carolyn Bernhardt

My sincere condolences to the Homburg family. Shirley certainly was one of the grandest ladies, a dedicated servant to our community. I have known Shirley through her amazing work at Olbrich. We shared a lot of history of the development of Olbrich. She has left a great legacy reflected in her family and friends, what better to leave behind for all of us to share in our memories.

So sorry to hear, especially when Shirley sent a Christmas card wondering when we will ever do lunch again. I was just too late. I am most of all sorry for that. We visited when she was at Olbrich . Ven and I visited when ever we went there. She helped me with my drawing skills, and I will never forget her clown painting hanging at Aunt Mae's house. Hugs and Love, Mary Jane and Venard Cypher.
