I was the Wild Rose high school librarian and also the Cheerleading Coach when Marilyn was at Wild Rose. I so clearly remember talking her and Rennee Reed Tangwell into coming out for cheerleading. She kept insisting that was not something she could do. I said to give it a chance and if she didn't like it I would stop bugging them. She learned to love it and did it with so much joy and so much fun. I remember her falling from the top of a pyramid and breaking her wrist really bad. I drove down to University hospital on the following Sunday to spend some time with her. It was out last game of the season and she kept saying she would have cheered with a cast on if the season would not have been over. I loved her dearly. She was such a joy to be around. Love and prayers to her parents and her husband and step sons. I was so lucky to have reconnected with her on facebook these last couple of years. Heaven has a very special angel.

The sun was just a little less bright today. We were stunned by the loss of such a bright young woman. If only there was something magical that we could say. Please know that our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you. Ann, Angela, Alicia, Johnathan & John Funk

Dear Eric, Your friends in the 1st Michigan Colonial Fife and Drum Corps wish to extend our sorrow at the loss of your beautiful wife, Marilyn. We are always remindful of the wonderful times we have had in your company and hope that this sorrow will be lifted through faith and love. On a personal note, I would like to add that nothing can prepare anyone for this kind of thing. It is a terrible burden to be sure, but I am living proof that through faith, prayers and friends, all is possible. When time permits, please feel free to call. I would love to talk. I can only tell you that, as someone who has survived the loss of a wife, the best way to remember and honor Marilyn is to be YOUR best at what you do. Continue to be the good Dad; the good Friend and the good Teacher that you are. Keep the faith, Eric. I am so sorry for your loss. Please feel free to call or write. Your friends have not ever forgotten our wonderful experiences with you. Sincerely Yours, Mark Logsdon 586 247 1775
