Obituary

FITCHBURG/MILWAUKEE- The accordion was silenced when our mother, grandmother, and social butterfly Rosemary “Sandy” Wilson, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013. She was born on July 2, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Edward and Phyllis (Brodzik) Grycowski. Sandy married Raymond Wilson on Feb. 11, 1950, in Milwaukee and they enjoyed 37 happy years together. Friends and relatives will remember parties at their home or at their cottage in Crivitz with Sandy playing the accordion and Ray on the saxophone. Sandy lit up a room when she entered, and enjoyed joke-telling, fun and games, playing “gigs” for friends and family, politics, and spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and grand-dog, Kaia. She is survived by three children, Pamela (Todd) Holt of Ohio, Craig Wilson of Vermont, and Janet (Michael Kicmol) Wilson of Fitchburg; five grandchildren, Christopher, Lindsay, Patrick, Graeme and Spencer; her “Gaborski sisters” Anita (Ray) Michels, Donna James and Deane Pfund; brother, Jack Grycowski; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Raymond; brother-in-law, Earl Pfund; and sister-in-law, Rosemary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, at ST. LUKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 18000 W. Greenfield Avenue, Brookfield, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, with Father Kenneth Augustine presiding. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. at the church. A private burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army or Home Health United Hospice. A special thanks to Home Health United staff for your care and support, and to all who knew and loved Sandy. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Good bye to my wonderful sister. She was my mentor. She was smart and beautiful inside. We had such good times together. Sara and Lacy our puppies will miss her dearly..Now she will take a breath of fresh air in heaven with Ray by her side. I am sure they are having a duet together right now. Love you Sandy Ray and Anita

Jan and Family: I was saddened to read of your mother's passing in yesterday's paper and equally saddened to realize I never met her -- accordian player, mother, grandmother and "social butterfly." I know I would have liked her and remember your stories about her. Please know that my sympathy is with you and your family and that I will uphold you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope, too, that you feel the love and blessings of Christmas despite your loss and find joy in your many fond memories of your mom. Peace be with you. Jan Somerfeld

Dear Jan & Mike, Pam & Todd and Family, From this picture of your Mom and the time we spoke to her on the phone, we know this is a person with whom we would have had many wonderful times. Our hearts ache for you but oh how much joy we know you gave her. And what a wonderful legacy she and your Dad gave this world. With love, Ted & Betty
