Obituary
HAMER, RAE MARIE
MADISON-Rae Marie Hamer, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Prairie Gardens in Sun Prairie. She was born on Feb. 12, 1925, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Lee and Hilda White. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in June of 1943. She married John E. Hamer on July 13, 1946, in Oshkosh. As a military wife, Rae settled in Madison after John passed away and she and her son, Tim bought a bait shop in Madison. After selling the bait shop, Rae worked for Bormann’s Clothing Store from 1977 until 1992, when she retired. Rae loved crocheting, knitting, and any kind of crafting. She loved to play scrabble, bingo, crazy eights, and work on puzzles. She also loved to play the slot machines and had her share of luck. But above all, she loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed watching all her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids grow. Rae is survived by her sons, Bill (Suzy) Hamer, Tim Hamer, and Bob (Jean) Hamer; daughter, Leanne (Denny) Eithun; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and very special cousins, Bill (Dolly) Moylan and Paul (Karen) Moylan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter-in-law, Mary K. Hamer.
Funeral services will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding.
