Obituary

MADISON-Anita Jones passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Roger; daughters, Sue (Randy) Clinard of Cedar Park, TX, Cindy (Kent) York of Falcon Heights, MN, and Cheri Verdecchia of Verona; grandchildren, Jacob Verdecchia and Shannon Clinard; as well as siblings Loren Brian, Ray Brian, Roberta Miller and Lois Brian, all from IL. Anita was born on Nov. 23, 1929, to Jacob and Minnie Brian in Champaign County, IL. She met Roger while both attended Illinois State University, and they were married on June 10, 1950. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family and friends could always count on warm hospitality and delicious meals, often including her signature apple pie. Anita was a gifted seamstress who tailored many beautiful clothes and there are fond memories of her working late into the night to complete the perfect outfit for one of her daughters. She was a voracious reader and strict grammarian who loved travel, dancing and playing bridge. Anita and Roger were members of the First Congregational UCC of Oconomowoc, where she served as a neighborhood chairperson for a number of years. A Memorial Service will be held at the UCC Church in Oconomowoc at 11:00 AM on December 28th, with a light luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Heritage Monona Memory Care, Agrace HospiceCare, or the church.

Roger, Sue, Cindy, Cheri and your Families. I was so sorry to hear of Anita's passing. I'm also sorry that we didn't get to see you all very much. I often think of the times Mike and I stopped to see on our way home from Berlin. Anita & I talked our heads off trying to get years of news talked over in a couple of days. You have very fond memories to sustain you. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Aunt Roberta Miller
