Obituary
MADISON-Dennis Greunke, age 61, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 14, 1953, in Auburndale, the son of Armin and Dorothy (Broeske) Greunke. Dennis married Rebecca Hensler on May 15, 1982, in South Bend, Ind. He overcame many obstacles throughout his life, and he always came out smiling. His Faith was a very important part of his life. Dennis loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; son, Dennis (Heather) and Matthew (fiancé, Katlyn); grandson, Quintin; and mother, Dorothy. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Armin; sister, Sharon; and brother, Roger. Funeral services will be held at EASTSIDE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2310 Independence Ln., Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, with the Rev. Glen Schmiege presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

After a 5 hour car ride to visit my sisters family in Madison, upon entering the living room we always heard a robust "Howdy" from Dennis. He had a wonderful laugh and sense of humor which he would share. He usually accompanied us on outings Becky would plan for our visit. Dennis enjoyed working and playing games on his computer. Always enjoyed a good meal. His journey here is over now but I am sure he began his next journey with his robust "Howdy" greeting to all. Will miss you Dennis, Love, Peggy

I am truly sorry for your loss. Death is an enemy that we as humans just can’t defeat. However, our loving Creator, Jehovah God, has promised us that through His Son, Jesus Christ, He will eliminate death forever. (John 11:25, 35, 36, 41-44) Just knowing that there is a hope for our loved ones’ future can give us the strength to carry on. He was granted lifetime membership in The American Scientific Glassblower Society for his contributions to the craft and the organization.
