Walter Edmund Alburn

MADISON-Walter “Butch” Alburn, age 65, of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Butch was a lifelong resident of Madison. He was born on Dec. 27, 1947, the son of Walter and Dorothy (LaBrosse) Alburn. He served in the military in the Vietnam Era, with the Army. Walter worked for the city of Madison for over 25 years in the Computer Support Department. Butch enjoyed fishing, movies, walking the dog, visiting with family, spending time with family, spending time at his Packwaukee home for almost 10 years. Butch is survived by his lifelong partner of many years, Paul Carriere of Madison, formerly from the U.P.; sister, Sandra D. Moll (Armond) of Madison; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy; and sister, Betty Salverson. Military Honors will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, with the funeral service immediately following. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
