Ruby was my godmother and I always thought of her has my own personal fairy godmother as a child. She has always been my own special person in my life. I was blessed.

I am so sorry to see that Ms. Grossman has passed away in death. Please accept my family's condolences. May your hearts find peace and comfort from the Bible's promise at John chapter 5 verses 28 and 29 and Psalms chapter 37 verse 29 which says that soon God is going to resurrect back to life on earth our loved ones who have died so that we can be reunited with them.

I so enjoyed seeing Ruby and her parents at the farm as a boy growing up. There was always food on a long table from one end of the room to the other. Ruby, the farm and her dog Queenie hold a special place in my memory. Ruby was always ready to smile and was so kind with a special presence. She was loved by many.

As a young boy I visited Ruby and her folks many times. I can trace my lifelong joy of photography back to those many visits when Ruby put on fantastic slide shows. She was so pleasant and put up with my many questions about cameras. I remember her fondly every time I pick up a camera. May she rest in peace.

I was saddened to read today of the loss of Ruby Grossman. I am a Frank Allis alumnae and must say though I was scared by her reputation of strictness and must have cried the whole first day of 4th grade, she quickly became and remained my all time favorite and most inspiring teacher. That is saying something as I went on to complete medical school and a pediatric residency! Her no tolerance policies were magestically layered with love and support. She helped a group of us that year with some "friend issues" which in 1982 weren't called bullying, but would be today. I've always appreciated the model of quiet strength that she was for me. Our world was brighter and stronger when she graced it. I thank her and Pauline Sinkule for all the ways they helped our Allis community then and now as I'm sure many of us are better people for having been taught and nurtured by them.

I was a 4th grade student of Miss Grossman's in 1963. She was the one that had the sad responsibility of delivering the news of President Kennedy's death to our class on the 22nd of November that year. She was kind, caring and always seemed to wear a cheery smile. Miss Sinkule was my music teacher that year and she as well holds a special place in my heart. Both were inspirations during my childhood. My deepest condolences to Miss Sinkule and Miss Grossman's family.
