Obituary
STOUGHTON-Eva M. Simonson, age 90, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Stoughton Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 11, 1923, the daughter of Bennie and Josephine (Showers) Thompson. Eva graduated from Stoughton High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Simonson on Oct. 27, 1945. Eva worked for many years in the cafeteria at Stoughton High School, but mostly, she was a loving mother and wife. She loved to bake, cook, read and travel with Robert. Eva especially loved being with her family and her wonderful grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Eva is survived by her best friend and husband of 68 years, Robert; children, Judy (Edward) Pooch and Gary (Debbie) Simonson, all of Cottage Grove; three grandchildren, Mike (Lindsay) Simonson, David Simonson and Heather (Brian) Campeau; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Gaven and Boden; sister, Thelma Skaar; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, Marvin, Stanley and Randall.
Funeral services will be held at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 Cty. Hwy. B, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, with the Rev. Paula Geister-Jones presiding. Burial will be at Lutheran South Cemetery. Following the burial, lunch will be served at church. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
