He was very proud of his old newspaper headline collection and scrapbook of celebrity autographs. A very sincere and caring gentleman.

In a world where greed is all over the place, and a lack of so much respect is shown so widely....with so many wanting to receive and not give ...Today my family lays to rest a man who lived 91 years, was married for 70 years, served his country, loved his country, loved his family, never SWORE, and lived a full and complete life. VERY few can math what this man has done. There is NO comparison. You are the best Grandpa, Father, Son, Husband, an HONORABLE man there is. I will miss you terribly. My god bless you Grandpa.

Uncle Wally as we in the Smith family called him was the gentelest of souls. I have many memories of the Meyer house; the train set, and visiting many times when I was young. Uncle Wally and Aunt Noreen were a important part of our young lives growing up and I enjoyed so very much visiting them in Madison from Milwaukee. He was a very special man. Bless his entire family. Rick Smith ; son of Robert Smith, who was Noreen's Brother.
