Lucille Mary Ann Bailey

MONONA - Lucille “Lucy” Bailey, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Lucy was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Otto and Olive Rogge (Pulvermacher). She and her husband found their dream lot in Frost Woods, Monona, and built their home when the community was in its infancy. They raised their three children in a close-knit neighborhood where Lucy formed many lasting friendships. Although Lucy worked for many years at CUNA Credit Union; her children, and especially her six grandchildren, were the center of her universe. The extended Rogge clan of four sisters and their families was also a constant in her life. Weekends and holidays were reserved for their many get-togethers. Lucy loved everything “Wisconsin” and she and her husband spent many hours enjoying what the state has to offer. She lived a wonderful life and was deserving of all the happiness she enjoyed. She showed us unconditional love and left a lasting legacy that her children and grandchildren will carry in their hearts. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Bailey; and her sons, Robert K. (Michelle) Bailey and Ronald (Laurie) Bailey; grandchildren, Brittany (Jesse) Zellmer, Ryan (Gwen) Bailey, Nicole Bailey, Jena Eiden, Robert C. Bailey and Patrick Bailey; great grandchildren, Kendall and Claire Zellmer; sisters, Arlene Mauel, Caryl Townsend and Judy Reis. Her husband of 51 years, Robert (Bob) Bailey, preceded her in death, as did her sister, Joan Ream. A funeral service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, with the Rev. Nick Utphall presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
