Dear Mrs. Winkler and family esp Tom aka Schmickey. Sincere condolences to you all. Doc delivered me and if my mom's memory is correct I was one of his first in Pardeeville. He was our family doctor and friend. I attended school with Tom and often wondered where he ended up. Several years ago I received a letter from Dr. Winkler and cherish it to this day. My deepest sympathy to you all. Sincerely Suzie Utke Redman Portage Wisconsin

While I was saddened to learn of Dr. Winkler's death, reading his obituary filled my heart with many warm memories. His mother and father-in-law, Rodney and Marian Jamieson, along with his cousin, Ann Jamieson and her husband, Fritz Karth were dear friends of my parents, and they always visited us when their rink curled in Wauwatosa. The couples also enjoyed some wonderful times at the Owls' Nest in Poynette during our summers at the cottage in Dekorra. Thanks for the memories, and blessings to all who love the Jamiesons and the Winklers.

Employed as a medical transcriptionist at Palo Verde Hospital & Professional Offices in Tucson allowed me the privilege and pleasure of transcribing Dr. Winkler's professional correspondence and chart notes related to his medical practice. It was a joy to transcribe his cogent, concise and insightful thoughts regarding his decisions relative to patient diagnosis and care. His command of the English language was formidable. His "joie de vivre" is to be emulated. I had the utmost respect for his personal and professional conduct and feel he lived a full and rewarding life! Sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing....Marilyn Stoeckig

Robin and Family, today I learned of the passing of Howard. The memories of shared bird watching exchanges and discussions of family will be with me forever. I was able to help Howard as he donated much of his Natural History library to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and proudly have a birding guide with an inscription from Peg to Howie.
A fine man.
