Florence L. Pettenuzzo

Schiller Park, IL-Florence Pettenuzzo, age 79, of Schiller Park, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare Center in Madison, Wis. She was born on Oct. 28, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Italian immigrants, Anthony and Marietta (Alonzi) DiVito. Florence attended Steinmetz High School in Chicago. She married Raymond Pettenuzzo on July 13, 1957, in Chicago. She worked as a bookkeeper for Zenith Radio Company and Classic Sheet Metal for many years. Florence or Flo, for those who knew her, was a dedicated wife and mother and was known for her authentic Italian cooking. Florence had a strong faith and gave patronage to the St Maria Goretti Parish in Schiller Park, IL for many years. She now joins her beloved husband Raymond, who has been anxiously waiting 30 years for her. Florence will be remembered for her lively spirit and her eternal joy that she spread to all those around her. Florence is survived by her children, Linda (Randy) Peterson of Middleton, Raymond (MaryBeth) Pettenuzzo of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Maria Pettenuzzo of Schaumburg, Ill.; grandchildren, Kristin Peterson, Renee (Marcus) Parton, Brandon Peterson, Martina, Marissa, Mary Rose, and Margherite Pettenuzzo; siblings, Angie Candotti, Theresa Cecchin, and Anthony DiVito. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Ida Corona and Venus Guglielmo. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 10050 Ivanhoe Ave., Schiller Park, Ill., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013. Private entombment will be held at All Saints Mauseleum in Des Plaines, Ill. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
