Obituary
OREGON-Patricia Mary Feller, age 85, of Oregon, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on May 19, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of Daisy and John Raftree. Patricia married G. Walter Feller on April 6, 1974, in Madison. She grew up on the east side of Madison, graduating from East High School. Patricia retired from Methodist Hospital after working there for 25 years. While working at the hospital, she met the love of her life, Walter. Walter and Patricia shared their married life on their farm outside of Oregon. The city girl loved country living, having a big garden, raising animals and walking the fields. She was a very kind and compassionate person and was an inspiration to many. After Walter’s passing, she was proud that she was able to continue to live in her home, where she felt safe and free from her blindness. Patricia is survived by her daughters, Susie (Terry) Campbell and Melissa (Guy) Judd; sons, Jeffery (Bonnie) Olson and Christopher Olson; sisters, Marilyn Lindau (Mike Siemion) and Sharon Stoltz; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; sons, Michael and Stephen Olson; daughter, Eileen Simonson; mother, Daisy Paltz; brother, Joe Raftree; brothers-in-law, Paul Lindau and Bill Stoltz; and her lifelong friend, Adeline. Memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St. Oregon, from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Council for the Blind in Patricia’s honor. www.wcblind.org. Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there is a difference for me you know because in that other room, I shall be able to see. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com

I have many good memories of Grandma Feller. They range from staying out at the farm with Grandma Feller and Walter to taking my kids out to see her and picking up sticks in the yard. The later memory was quite interesting as you can imagine, taking small kids and a blind grandmother out to collet sticks is a challenge. I don’t know who hit each other more with a stick, grandma or Karlie….good memory.
I really wish I was given the opportunity to say good bye to her, it is very unfortunate that many members of the family were not given the ability to say good bye to her in the days before she passed. Everyone should have been given that opportunity.
Can anyone tell me when the service will be? I’ve been told by Gunderson that no service date/time has been set yet. Thank you. Nate

I, too, have many great memories of Grandma Pat. The most recent being on a camping trip with my mom, dad, and me. She had a great time and even though we were in the woods, she felt right at home. She laughed. She smiled. She cracked jokes. She played with Bandit. She was happy! It was a great memory and one that I wish I had the chance to re-live. I am extremely saddened to not have had the chance to say good-bye and to tell her how much she was loved by all.

I knew I fit in with the Judd family when I met Pat. The first time I met Pat she asked if she could feel me so she could see what I looked like and oddly enough this wasn't the last time she would ask to do that it became a routine that we both got a kick out of. I loved the "flirtatious" relationship that we had. you always made me laugh. I love you Pat and I'm so glad you can see me now. I'm so glad that I knew you as well as I did. You are a very special lady.
