Thomas Orville Matt

OREGON - Thomas O. Matt, age 77, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013. He was born on Dec. 4, 1935 in Milwaukee. Thomas married Shirley Rose on Aug. 1, 1963, in Milwaukee. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Tom was a wonderful story teller and he enjoyed fishing and golf. Thomas was a wonderful father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Pamm (Brian) Marvin and Tim (Veronica) Matt; grandchildren, Jessica Marvin and Hannah Matt; brothers, James (Gusti) Matt, Bob (Ginny) Matt, and Richard (Sharon Bayles) Matt; brothers-in-law, Edward (Ann) Moore and Bill Weekley; and sisters-in-law, Marge Shuman, Bettie Dennis and Rita Jornd. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and sister, Betty Kaiser. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, with Chaplain Bonnie Pribbenow-Paddock officiating. Entombment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park , Monona, where military rites will be conducted by the Oregon-Brooklyn-McFarland VFW. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
