Delores M Bollig,

MADISON-Delores M. Bollig, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at the St. Mary’s Care Center in Madison. She was born on Nov. 5, 1924, in Ashton, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Spahn) Acker. Delores married Leonard Bollig on June 4, 1946, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Ashton. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising vegetable and flower gardens, canning, baking and quilting. Delores loved caring for her family. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Middleton. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leonard; her son, Steve Bollig of Woodstock, Ill.; six daughters, Bonnie (Geoff) Harrington of Ridgefield, Conn., Barb (Steve) Pitterle of St. Germain, Lorraine (friend, Bill Lang) Bollig of Cross Plains, Bev (Ed) Kekec of Frontenac, Miss., Patty Peterson of Windsor, and Debra (Dave) Keller of Madison; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marion Hensen, Helen Gilles, Jane Whitt, and Jeanette (Carl) Kurt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Delores was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Joseph; a son-in-law, Dave Peterson; brothers, Jerome (in childhood) Casper, Greg, Ed, Jim (her twin), Raymond and Lawrence; and a sister, Marcella Wagner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7129 Co. Rd. K, Ashton, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude for care received in Delores’ last years at St. Mary’s Care Center.
