Phyllis Gioconda Moody

Phyllis Gioconda Moody entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, with her husband by her side. She was born on Feb. 2, 1944, in Juigalpa, Nicaragua, the daughter of H.A. Winston and Mercedes Moody. Gioconda, as she was often called, was a lively and colorful character who lived life to the fullest. She was a nurse by profession and loved to serve others. Gioconda was married to Clemente Carrion on March 21, 2002. She is survived by her mother, Mercedes; son, Winston R. Romero Moroney; granddaughter, Yazmin Maritza; sisters, Ritma, Maritza, (Luis), Vanessa (Kenny), Deborah, Daphne; brother, Junior; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, H.A. Winston; and her brother, Dayton Lester. A memorial service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at 3 p.m.
