MONONA-Ruth Mary Schott, age 88, of Monona, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. She was born on Dec. 1, 1924, the daughter of Thurman and Mary (McCann) Grinnell. Ruth married Richard Schott on June 19, 1947. She enjoyed playing bingo, cake decorating, traveling to Monroe with her sister, Elinor, her peone garden, and spending time with family and friends. Ruth is survived by her son, Ronnie; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sister, Elinor Runey; and brother, Richard Grinnell. Committal services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the cemetery chapel from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. If we are not able to come tomorrow, I want you to know how much we cared about your Mom. We lived next door for about 38 years and we shared many things and stories. Because I don't have an address to mail a card or a place to send a plant, if we don't make it , we will see you when we do come there. please take care and we loved your Mom.

Dear Ronnie, I'm so sorry I couldn't offer my condolences sooner.
I am so sorry to hear about your sweet mom passing. I am so glad you spent as much time with her as you did. I'll always cherish those moments when she would just chat on and on about things. Her favorite topic was always you. My thoughts and prayers are with you,
