Obituary
SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON-Dale T. Koenig, age 56, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in Sun Prairie. Dale was born on July 23, 1957, in Madison, the son of Raymond A. and Wanda (Pearson) Koenig. He graduated from Madison East High School and attended MATC and the University of Wisconsin. Dale was united in marriage to Jeanette LaMont in 1984. He was a long time employee of Kohl’s Food Stores. Dale most recently worked at the American Automobile Association (AAA). He was a special person who made friends with everyone he met. He had an exceptional sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh with his stories, especially those about his own adventures and mishaps. Dale found enjoyment in music, dancing, baseball (having coached a women’s softball team for several years), and attending live theater productions around the country. He also enjoyed traveling, especially the time he spent with his family and friends at their timeshares in Eagle River. Dale is survived by his wife, Jeanette; mother and step-father, Wanda and Ken Kalhagen; and brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Sherry Koenig. He is further survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, including the children of his closest friends who he was a surrogate uncle to; and other relatives and friends, young and old. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Raymond and his grandparents. In keeping with his wishes, a small family graveside service will be held at Lakeview Lutheran Cemetery. A Celebration of his Life will be held at KAVANAUGH ESQUIRE CLUB, 1025 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. Donations may be made in Dale’s name to the American Cancer Society, the Dane County Humane Society, Agrace HospiceCare, or a charity of your choice. On-line condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Dale brightened all of the lives he touched, brought smiles to many faces, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dale was truly a gift and a treasure who left us much too soon. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608)221-5420

I was very sad to hear of Dale's passing. He was a very good friend from grade school and high school. He was always quick to smile and tell a joke. I will remember fondly the football games we had behind the church on North Lawn
